Dr Alberto Zambon Neurologist Neuromuscular Repair Unit, Institute of Experimental Neurology (InSpe), Division of Neuroscience, IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, Milan, Italy

Dr Alberto Zambon started his clinical and scientific career in 2012 in the Department of Neurology at San Raffaele Hospital situated in Milan, Italy. He dedicated his expertise to the field of Neurology and successfully obtained his specialization in 2019. He gained valuable experience in adult and pediatric neurology domains throughout his formal training. Presently, he serves as a PhD candidate and Consultant Neurologist at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, where he manages cases admitted to the Department of Paediatrics and Neonatology.

Dr Zambon has consistently focused his clinical and research efforts on pediatric neurology, with a particular emphasis on inherited neurodegenerative disorders. From 2018 to 2021, he attended the Dubowitz Neuromuscular Center in London as a research fellow in neuromuscular disorders. As a resident in Neurology, he actively participated in observational and interventional studies centred around Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). In collaboration with Dr Fumagalli, he authored a comprehensive analysis of the natural progression of a substantial cohort of MLD patients (Fumagalli et al., 2021). Currently, he is directing his research towards exploring the significance of different biomarkers in patients with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) who have undergone gene therapy.
